The book touches on all aspects of management like Decision Making Human Resource Development Organizational Behaviour and Social Responsibility in twelve chapters. The relevance of Arthashastra remains well documented in management thought even today but the other quotations from Vedic and Classical literature regarding managerial science or practice is the highlight of this book. Marketing Management: A Decision Making Approach by Pingali Venugopal develops the marketing product concept which would allow marketers to convert a technical product into more than a marketing product. It integrates marketing environmental variables and SWOT analysis to give a better understanding of information for making marketing decisions and describes a process of developing customers loyalty by building a multilayered positioning strategy for companies. What is interesting about the book is the redefinition of Maslows hierarchy of needs to introduce the concept of rebel need which could provide a basis for introducing new products that are not currently accepted by society.
