Roma Chatterji


Roma Chatterji teaches sociology at the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. Apart from an abiding interest in folk culture and art, her fields of interest are medical anthropology and collective violence. She is the author of Writing Identities: Folklore and the Performing Arts of Purulia (2009) and co-author, with Deepak Mehta, of Living with Violence: The Anthropology of Events and Everyday Life (2007). She has just completed a manuscript entitled Speaking Pictures: Folk Art and the Narrative Imagination.
